Goodnight Lenin

Folk/Indie/Pop

Formed in the autumn of 2009, Goodnight Lenin's songs are reminiscent of the singer songwriters of the 1960s & 1970s, whilst still being relevant to the modern day listener.

Inspired by Dylan, Young and Simon & Garfunkel, they constantly strive to deliver honest, experience based lyrics that flow along into their carefully crafted sound that seamlessly crosses genres.

Since the band's inception they have built up good followings on Facebook (713 Likes) and Myspace (971). This has been a result of good gigs including Moseley Festival and Bestival which the band played to great acclaim. The band also play Kitchen gigs at peoples houses which are subsequently posted on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVsGmTjdlek (1500 plays)

The first single 'Crook in the Creek' was released through Static Caravan Recordings in August 2010. With the single released, they were blessed enough to receive their inaugural radio play recently on Guy Garvey's Finest Hour, BBC Radio 6 Music as well as receiving radio play from XFM and BBC Radio 2. This also resulted in a BBC Radio 2 session with Janice Long.

Building on this the band are already confirmed to play the following Festivals in Summer 2011 Glastonbury, Field Festival, Green Man Festival, Firefly, Farmer Jos, PartyNeuf, End of the Road and Bestival.

The next release a 5 track EP is currently being mixed and scheduled for release in Spring 2011.

The release will be supported by a UK tour.
